Welcome to the Irish Accommodation Services Institute, formerly the Association of Hotel Accommodation Management.
We are the national body representing the professional interests of the accommodation industry in Ireland. You will find regular informative bulletins on issues that affect our industry and we would welcome submissions that may be of interest to our members.
A Word from our President:
Welcome to the website of the IASI (Irish Accommodation Service Institute). My name is Ines Guerra and I have served on the council of IASI and was honored to be elected as President of this organization in January 2010.
The IASI, our organization has come a long way since our change of identity from AHAM.
IASI is a national body representing the professional interest of the Accommodation industry in Ireland. Its members include Accommodation Managers, Supervisors and all personnel working in the accommodation field. It is a very active in promoting best practice standards across accommodation, it provides a forum to meet and network with other professionals in our field of work.
In this economic downturn, it is important to remember that everything is temporary. Nothing ever remains the same – not you, me, the economy or your present work status. Keep preparing yourself for the journey you have ahead. You are the only one responsible for what you do with the opportunities that are presented to you along your journey. The opportunities will surely come. In this time it is important to be optimistic about your future.
As the saying goes “Tough times don’t last; tough people do”
The Housekeeping management industry is a tough field. No doubt you have learned this through your work experiences. Now, is the time to commit yourself to this organization and become the best manager possible.
We are encouraging all our members to continue membership and encourage non members to join and experience the friendship and support our organization provide.
One of the main focuses for my period as President of the IASI will be improving our website to make it useful and practical for every member and non member. In this time when everything has been computerized I believe that the website can be used as tool for our daily job and network.
Finally on behalf of all the members I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our sponsors who have continued to support us throughout the years and without whose support we would not be able to develop into the professional body we are today.
